Skin Tag Removal in Anaheim & Orange County
Neoderma removes skin tags at our Anaheim clinic with desiccation — a fine-tipped electrode dries the tag in seconds, and it falls off naturally within 1–2 weeks. Topical numbing makes it nearly painless, results are permanent, and we safely treat every area (even eyelids) and every skin tone.

Drag the slider — dozens of skin tags across the neck and décolleté fully cleared, leaving smooth, even-toned skin.
What are skin tags, and why do they appear?
Skin tags are small, soft, harmless growths — and almost everyone develops at least one at some point. They form most often where skin rubs against skin or clothing, which is why they show up on the eyelids, neck, and underarms, as well as the chest, under the bra line, and in the groin area. They're benign, but they catch on jewelry and razors, and most people simply don't want them.
How does desiccation remove skin tags?
Our providers use a fine-tipped tool to deliver a precise, mild electric current to each tag. The current dries the tag out instantly — no cutting, no stitches, no liquid nitrogen blistering the surrounding skin. Over the following days the tag scabs and falls off on its own, leaving smooth skin behind. Because the tip touches only the tag itself, desiccation is precise enough for delicate areas like the eyelids and gentle enough for every skin tone.
What is the appointment and healing timeline?
Most clients are done in a single visit — even with many tags — and back to work the same day:
| Stage | What to expect |
|---|---|
| Arrive 1 hour early | Topical numbing cream goes on and takes effect |
| Treatment | Seconds per tag — most sessions take 15–30 minutes |
| Days 1–14 | Each tag dries, scabs, and falls off on its own |
| After 2–4 weeks | Smooth, even-toned skin |
How much does skin tag removal cost in Anaheim?
Skin tag removal at Neoderma is $195, which includes up to 10 small skin tags, 5 medium tags, or one large tag. Have more than 10 tags? We'll put together a custom quote at your consultation. Because desiccation treats each tag in seconds, clearing several in one visit costs far less than removing them one at a time. Note that skin tag removal is cosmetic, so it's typically not covered by insurance.

Does it hurt? How do I prepare?
With topical numbing cream there is minimal to no pain — most clients feel brief warm pinpricks at most. Plan to arrive one hour before your appointment so the numbing has time to work.
Before your appointment
- ✓Come in freshly showered with clean skin
- ✓No makeup or lotion on the areas being treated
- ✓Work out beforehand — you can't exercise for 24 hours after
After your treatment
- ✕Keep the treated areas clean and dry — no showering for 24 hours
- ✕Avoid sweating and strenuous activity for 24 hours
- ✕Avoid sun exposure; wear SPF 30+ on treated areas
- ✕Don't touch, scratch, or pick — that's what prevents hyperpigmentation
Why have a medical provider remove your skin tags?
Drugstore freeze-off kits and at-home remedies routinely leave blisters, scars, and dark marks — especially on deeper skin tones — and they can't be used near the eyes. At Neoderma, every removal is performed by a medical provider who first confirms the growth is a benign tag; anything suspicious gets referred for dermatological evaluation instead of treated. We've been caring for skin in Anaheim since 2001, and clients come from across Orange County for exactly this kind of careful work.

Skin tag removal FAQ
Is skin tag removal permanent?
Yes — desiccation is permanent. A treated skin tag will not grow back. However, if you have a condition that predisposes you to forming skin tags, you may develop new ones over time, including in areas that have already been treated.
Does skin tag removal hurt?
With topical numbing cream there is minimal to no pain. We ask you to arrive one hour before your appointment so the numbing cream has adequate time to work; the treatment itself feels like brief warm pinpricks at most.
Can you remove skin tags around the eyes?
Yes we can — eyelids are one of the most common areas we treat, because friction from blinking and rubbing makes tags likely to form there. A quick consultation with one of our providers confirms your tag is something we can safely treat.

How long does it take to heal?
The treated tag dries up, scabs, and falls off on its own — usually within 1–2 weeks. Keep the area clean, dry, and protected with SPF 30+, and don't pick at the scab: letting it fall off naturally is what leaves smooth, even-toned skin behind.
I have many small dark bumps on my face — can those be treated?
Usually yes. Clusters of small, dark, tag-like bumps on the face and neck (common on deeper skin tones, often called DPN) respond very well to desiccation, and we treat all skin tones. Our providers will confirm your bumps are benign at your consultation before treating.
Can you remove moles too?
Desiccation is for benign growths like skin tags. Moles are different: any mole that is new, changing, bleeding, or irregular should be evaluated medically before removal is considered. If our providers see anything suspicious at your consultation, we'll refer you to a dermatologist rather than treat it.
