What is Botox, and how does it work?
Botox (onabotulinumtoxinA) is an FDA-approved neuromodulator used to temporarily relax the specific facial muscles that cause dynamic wrinkles — the lines that show up when you frown, squint, smile, or raise your brows. Once injected, it blocks the release of acetylcholine, the neurotransmitter responsible for muscle contractions; the muscle relaxes, and the line it creases into your skin smooths away for months.
Treatments are quick — usually 15–20 minutes — with no downtime: you can return to your day the moment you leave our office. Botox starts to work within 24–48 hours, most people see significant improvement by day seven, and results are FDA-proven to last up to 4 months. Over 100 million vials have been sold in the past 20+ years, making it the original, most-studied neuromodulator.
Our philosophy: we use Botox to soften, not erase, your expressions — so you still look like yourself, just more rested and refreshed. Never “frozen.”
What can Botox treat?
After 25+ years of injecting, we treat well beyond the basics — from the classic facial areas to specialist work like masseter Botox for TMJ and jawline slimming, platysmal neck bands, and hyperhidrosis:
- ✓Frown lines (the “11s”)
- ✓Crow's feet around the eyes
- ✓Forehead lines
- ✓Masseters — TMJ relief & jawline slimming
- ✓Lip flip / gummy smile
- ✓Platysmal bands (vertical neck lines)
- ✓Excess sweating (hyperhidrosis)
- ✓Bunny lines on the nose
- ✓Chin dimpling (“orange peel” chin)
Where does Botox go? Build your estimate
Botox is dosed by the unit, and every area of the face takes a different amount. A great starting point is what we call the look of 64: treating the three FDA-approved cosmetic areas at their full label dose — frown lines (20 units), forehead (20), and crow's feet (24) — adds up to 64 units, or about $828.80 at $12.95 a unit. That's the classic, natural-looking upper-face refresh most people picture.

At $12.95 / unit. First-time ($50 off) and 40+ unit (extra $50 off) Allē & July savings can lower this — see offers above. Estimate only; your injector personalizes every dose.
Unit counts are averages — men often need more, and delicate areas less. Not shown here: underarm sweating (hyperhidrosis) uses about 100 units total.
Botox vs. Dysport vs. Daxxify — which is right for me?
All three are FDA-approved neuromodulators that work the same fundamental way — and Neoderma offers all three, so your provider can match the product to your anatomy and goals rather than whatever is on the shelf:
| Botox | Dysport | Daxxify | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Maker | Allergan / AbbVie | Galderma | Revance |
| Results begin | 3–7 days | Often 2–3 days | ~2 days |
| Typically lasts | 3–4 months | 3–4 months | Up to 6 months |
| Price at Neoderma | $12.95 / unit | $4.25 / unit | $6.50 / unit |
| Known for | The original — 20+ years, most studied | Softer spread; suits larger areas like the forehead | Peptide-stabilized, longest-lasting formula |
Note: unit strengths differ between products — a treatment takes roughly 2.5–3 Dysport units or 2 Daxxify units for every 1 Botox unit, so total treatment costs end up comparable. Your provider will quote your exact total before treatment.

What happens at your Botox appointment?
- 1Personalized consultation — we review your medical history, discuss your goals (softer lines, preventative Botox, a lifted brow), and analyze your facial expressions and muscle movement.
- 2Treatment plan & dosing — together we decide which areas to treat, the approximate number of units, and whether to pair Botox with fillers, skin tightening, or skincare.
- 3The injections — skin is cleansed and mapped for precision, then fine, small needles place the product exactly where it's needed. Most patients describe quick pinches, and you're done in about 20–30 minutes.
A note for patients
We believe in transparency. No matter where you go for treatment, you should always ask your provider to see the vial. We always show our patients exactly what we're injecting into their face — the sealed, brand-name vial, straight from the manufacturer. We show you the vials. We don't hide it from you.
This matters because if a price seems too good to be true, it often is. Suspiciously cheap injectables can mean counterfeit, diluted, or improperly stored product. Seeing the authentic, FDA-approved vial is your proof that what's going into your face is the real thing.
How much does Botox cost in Anaheim?
Botox at Neoderma is $12.95 per unit (Dysport $4.25/unit, Daxxify $6.50/unit). Your total depends on the number of units your anatomy and goals call for — as a reference, a typical frown-line treatment uses about 20 units of Botox, or roughly $259. You'll receive a transparent estimate before your treatment, so there are no surprises. Through July, purchases of 40+ units get an extra $50 off— so a 40-unit visit (about $518) comes to $468, and first-timers can stack Allē savings to bring it to $418. First-timers: sign up with Allē before your visit for $50 off your first Botox treatment. With consistent treatments, many patients find their lines become less deep over time and may need fewer units to maintain results.
A few treatments are priced as a flat service rather than by the unit — a Botox lip flip is a set $150. It uses just a few small units along the upper lip line to gently roll the lip outward for a fuller look — no filler required.

Botox FAQ
How much does Botox cost in Anaheim?
Botox at Neoderma is $12.95 per unit (Dysport is $4.25/unit and Daxxify $6.50/unit — their units measure differently, so totals are comparable). A typical frown-line treatment uses about 20 units of Botox, roughly $259. Through July, purchases of 40+ units get an extra $50 off, stackable with Allē discounts — first-timers get another $50 off by signing up with Allē before their visit. You'll receive a transparent estimate before any treatment, and financing is available through Cherry and CareCredit.
How much is a Botox lip flip?
A Botox lip flip at Neoderma is a flat $150 — a set price, not billed per unit. It places a few small units of Botox along the upper lip line so the lip gently rolls outward for a subtly fuller look, with no filler involved. It's a quick, no-downtime treatment and a popular first step before considering lip filler.
How long does a Botox appointment take?
Most Botox visits take about 20–30 minutes, including consultation, mapping, and injections. Your first visit may take a bit longer as we discuss your goals in detail.
Does Botox hurt?
Most patients describe Botox as quick, minor pinches. The needles are very fine, and any discomfort is usually brief. If you're nervous, let us know — we can walk you through each step so you feel more comfortable.
How soon will I see results, and how long do they last?
You may begin to see improvement within 3–7 days, with full smoothing typically visible around 10–14 days. On average, Botox results last about 3–4 months — and if you'd like longer-lasting results, ask about Daxxify, which lasted up to 6 months in clinical trials.
What's the difference between Botox, Dysport, and Daxxify?
All three are FDA-approved neuromodulators that relax the muscles behind dynamic wrinkles. Botox is the original and most studied; Dysport tends to kick in slightly faster and spreads a bit more, which can suit larger areas like the forehead; Daxxify is the newest and longest-lasting, with results up to 6 months. We carry all three and will recommend the right fit at your consultation.
Will I look frozen or overdone?
Our approach at Neoderma is natural and conservative. We focus on softening harsh lines while preserving your facial expressions. You should still look like you, just more rested and refreshed.
Who should not get Botox?
Botox isn't recommended if you're pregnant or breastfeeding, have certain neuromuscular conditions such as myasthenia gravis, have an infection at the injection site, or have had an allergic reaction to any botulinum toxin product. We review your full medical history at your consultation before treating you.
