What kinds of veins can be removed?

We treat the small, visible veins that bother people most — uncomplicated spider and reticular veins:

  • Spider veins (telangiectasias) on the legs
  • Blue-green reticular veins
  • Small varicose veins
  • Facial capillaries & veins around the nose
  • Rosacea redness (laser)
  • Red, blue & purple vein clusters

Honest note: Asclera has not been studied in veins larger than 3 mm. If you have large, bulging varicose veins or symptoms like leg pain and swelling, we'll recommend a vascular evaluation rather than cosmetic treatment.

How does Asclera sclerotherapy work?

Asclera (polidocanol) is an FDA-approved sclerosing solution injected directly into the affected vein with a very fine needle. It works by irritating the vein's walls, causing the vein to collapse — and your body then reabsorbs it naturally over the following weeks. Because the solution is placed vein by vein, treatment is precise, customizable to the size and location of each vein, and requires no downtime. Noticeable improvement typically appears within a few weeks.

How does laser vein removal work?

For clients who prefer no needles — and for delicate areas like the face — we use the GentleMax Pro Plus, the same dual-wavelength (Alexandrite + Nd:YAG) platform behind our laser hair removal. Focused light energy selectively heats and collapses the unwanted vein while the built-in Dynamic Cooling Device protects the surrounding skin before every pulse. Sessions run 15–30 minutes, it's safe for all skin tones, and it simultaneously improves overall tone — which is why it doubles as our rosacea-redness treatment.

Injections or laser — which is right for me?

Both get you to the same place: healthier-looking, vein-free skin. Our medical staff will assess which is best for your particular case — here's how they compare:

What is recovery like?

There's no downtime with either method — most clients return to their day immediately. After sclerotherapy, Asclera's guidance is simple: compression and movement.

After an Asclera session

  • Wear compression stockings for 2–3 days straight, then daytime for 2–3 weeks
  • Take daily walks to keep circulation moving

Avoid for the first 2–3 days

  • Heavy exercise
  • Sunbathing & tanning
  • Long plane flights
  • Hot baths, hot tubs & saunas

Why choose Neoderma for vein removal?

Most med spas offer one vein treatment and fit every client to it. Neoderma offers both — injectable sclerotherapy and laser — so the method is chosen for your veins, not the other way around. Every treatment is performed by our medical providers, who've been treating skin in Anaheim since 2001, and we're honest about limits: veins beyond cosmetic scope get referred for vascular care.

Vein removal FAQ

Does vein removal hurt?

Not much. Asclera injections use a very fine needle, and polidocanol has a mild anesthetic effect, so most clients feel only small pinches. The GentleMax Pro Plus laser sprays cooling before every pulse and feels like brief rubber-band snaps. Neither requires downtime.

How many sessions will I need?

It depends on the severity and number of veins. Many clients see a dramatic difference after 1–2 sessions, while a leg with extensive spider veins may need several, spaced about 4–6 weeks apart. Our providers will map out a plan at your consultation.

When will I see results?

Treated veins fade progressively as your body reabsorbs them — most clients see noticeable improvement within a few weeks of an Asclera session, with continued fading over 1–2 months. Laser-treated facial veins often improve even faster.

What should I do after sclerotherapy?

Per Asclera's guidance: wear compression stockings day and night for 2–3 days, then during the day for 2–3 weeks, and take daily walks. For the first few days avoid heavy exercise, sunbathing, long flights, and hot baths or saunas. We'll go over everything at your visit.

Can you treat the red veins on my face and nose?

Yes — facial capillaries and the broken veins that show up around the nose respond very well to the GentleMax Pro Plus laser, which also reduces rosacea redness. Facial sessions are quick and need no downtime.

How much does vein removal cost in Anaheim?

Asclera sclerotherapy starts at $450 per session, and GentleMax Pro Plus laser vein treatment starts at $200 for small areas. Total cost depends on how many veins you'd like treated — you'll get an exact quote at your consultation, and financing is available through Cherry and CareCredit.

Will the veins come back?

A vein that has collapsed and been reabsorbed is gone for good. However, new spider veins can form over time — especially with genetics, hormones, or prolonged standing — so some clients return for occasional touch-up sessions. Anything larger than Asclera treats (veins over 3 mm) gets referred for vascular evaluation instead.
