Take this list to every consultation. A good clinic will welcome these questions; a great one will answer them before you ask. We've included our own answers, because we believe a specialist should be able to show their work.
1.What laser will you use on me — and why that one?
Why it matters: Cosmetic brow pigments are not body-tattoo ink. Clearing them well takes a true picosecond laser with multiple wavelengths, not an older Q-switched machine.
Our answer: PicoWay, with three full-power wavelengths (1064/785/532 nm). We've owned and retired many devices over 25 years — this is the one we kept.
2.How long have you been removing tattoos — and cosmetic tattoos specifically?
Why it matters: Brows are a specialty within a specialty: thin skin, pigments that can shift color, and work near the eyes. Experience is the safety margin.
Our answer: We've been doing laser tattoo removal since 2001 — 25 years — with eyebrow and permanent-makeup removal as a core focus.
3.Will my natural brow hair grow back?
Why it matters: This is the myth that scares people out of treatment. The laser targets pigment, not follicles — a clinic that says your hair will be gone is telling you something about their technique.
Our answer: Your brow hair is unaffected. Most clients think their brows look fuller afterward, once old pigment stops showing through.
4.Honestly, how many sessions will I need?
Why it matters: Many patients tell us they were quoted six-plus treatments elsewhere — or promised quick results that never came. An honest answer depends on pigment depth, color, and saturation, not a script.
Our answer: Most brows clear in 2–4 sessions (light microblading, often 1–2). You'll get an individual estimate at a free consultation — and our goal is the fewest sessions, not the most.
5.What if another clinic already tried and the ink won't fade?
Why it matters: Residual, 'stuck' pigment is usually a device or wavelength limitation. If a clinic can't explain why ink stalled, they can't fix it.
Our answer: Finishing other clinics' work is a large part of our practice — stubborn warm and gray residues respond to the right wavelength at true picosecond pulses.
6.Do you numb the area — and is it included in the price?
Why it matters: Patients regularly tell us their previous clinic never offered numbing. Comfort isn't a luxury near the brow bone; it also lets your provider treat thoroughly.
Our answer: Topical numbing and cooling are always included, no upcharge. Most clients rate sessions 2–4 out of 10 for discomfort — and they take 5–10 minutes.
7.What aftercare will I get — in writing?
Why it matters: Aftercare protects your result and your skin. 'None' is an answer we hear about far too often.
Our answer: You leave with written aftercare and our phone number: what to avoid for the first 48 hours, sun protection, and exactly what healing should look like week by week.
8.How do you keep cosmetic pigment from turning darker?
Why it matters: Some brow inks contain iron oxide or titanium dioxide that can oxidize — turning gray, blue, or darker — when treated incorrectly. Any brow specialist should bring this up before you do.
Our answer: We assess pigment type first and test-spot when indicated, so oxidation is planned for — not discovered.
9.Who performs the treatment, and who supervises?
Why it matters: Laser tattoo removal is a medical procedure. You deserve to know the credentials of the person holding the laser.
Our answer: Licensed medical providers perform every treatment, with physician oversight from Dr. Sal Nadkarni.
10.When was your laser last serviced?
Why it matters: An out-of-calibration laser quietly under-delivers energy — you pay for sessions that can't fully work. Almost no one asks this question. Ask it.
Our answer: Our machines are serviced and calibrated on a regular manufacturer schedule, so every session delivers what your skin needs.
